Meet the Staff

Doug Meares

Hello. My name is Doug Meares. I have returned to IMR after a 2 year absence, so I have a lot of previous experience with Alchemy. I am a database programmer as well as a person who loves to play with software. I bring to this team experience with ODBC, experience in designing database applications, and experience in database design. I also have extensive experience with SQL.

I have been married to a great lady named Denise for 2 years. We have two dogs, Dylan and Buddy, two fish, one cat named Precious, and one bunny named Scully. We named him Scully because we are science fiction fans

I look forward to hearing from you, answering any of your questions, and solving any problems you may have with Alchemy.

Tips and Tricks

Zone OCR Templates - When setting up a zone OCR template, make sure your sample image file was scanned at the same dpi (dots per inch) that your production scanning would be scanned at. If that is not done, your OCR zones will pull data from areas other than those specified when you created the Zone OCR Template, resulting in inaccurate and unintended data populating the zone target.

Transferring Alchemy Licenses by Floppy - When you transfer a license on a floppy disk from one machine to another, you must first install the necessary Alchemy applications, i.e., Alchemy Server, AlchemyBuild, Alchemy Search, and the Alchemy add-ons, on the target machine. This is because you need to prepare the transfer disk on the target machine using the Alchemy License Manager (ALM) before transferring the license to it. For more detailed information, please see the Alchemy Premium Installation and Licensing Guide.

Alchemy Documentation - Do you have questions regarding Alchemy functionality that you are afraid to ask? Would you like to have a quick and great resource to answer those questions? All product manuals, in Adobe PDF format, can be found in the Documentation folder at the root of your install CD. They can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat.
