Meet the Staff – Kate Adams

IMR Tech Support, this is Kate. I have been here in Tech Support
about a year and a half and have really enjoyed my direct contact with
our customers. Before that, I was in QA at IMR for three and a half
years. I have also had professional incarnations at ING Security Life,
EDS and Wachovia Bank as programmer, project manager, data
administrator and business analyst over 25+ years.
I live with Andy, the big, hairy 100-pound Newfoundland-retriever mix
in the picture and enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, developing my
spiritual self and exploring Denver and Colorado – especially
restaurants. When you are in Denver, please stop by and introduce
yourself – I feel like I already know many of you and I’d love to meet
you in person.
Tips & Tricks
Using DataGrabber to Create Multi-page tiff files
Multiple page tiff files can be created by DataGrabber from single or
multiple page tiff files.
The Definition file will have the following syntax placed in the file:
Field (File,
Label (".txt ",
Lines (20, End),
Occurrences=One_Or_More),
Columns (Label_End + 1, End), Lines (Label_Start),
Trim_WS = Bounding,
Separate_regions="\r\n")
In this case, we are looking for a label “.txt” and using the
information after the label to find our tif file. We then tell it to
look for one or more lines to be added together to form a multiple
page tiff file by using the Occurrences statement and the
Separate_Regions statements. Looking at the following dat file, we can
see that the first record has “.txt” in the 26th and 27th lines. Both
of these tif files will be used to create one record in Alchemy.

Running the dat and def in Alchemy produces a multipage tif file as
below: File name will be the name of the first tif file.

Creating Multi-page tiff files with Drag and Drop

To create a multiple page tiff from one or more multiple page tiff
files:
1. Click on the first multipage tiff (in example, multi001.tif)
2. Turn on thumbnail view in viewer pane.
3. Drag the second tiff file and drop it next to the last page in the
viewer by left clicking once and holding the mouse key and moving your
mouse. Let go when you see the box next to the last page.
4. You should see the pages added to the tif:

You can continue to do this until you build the database.
Adobe 6.0 – PDF Viewer
IMR is aware that there are errors if Adobe 6 is installed with
Alchemy. Engineering is working to provide a comprehensive solution
that will be available later this year.
Customer Knowledge Base
Wouldn’t it be great if you had a resource for your Alchemy related
questions available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a
year? Would it save you valuable time to be able to get product
upgrades and patches immediately? IMR already provides both.
The IMR Customer Knowledgebase provides an online searchable database
of technical information for all IMR products. You can also download
the latest product upgrades and patches.
All IMR customers with a current Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP) are
